Email -Kwizzzzzzzzz
1. Should. So people know what they’re about to read before they open it.
2. Shouldn’t. Because other people can get all the addresses of your contacts and spam them.
3. Shouldn’t. Because they already got the email and don’t need it again.
4. Shouldn’t. Because everybody doesn’t need to know the business of the email.
5. Shouldn’t. Because you don’t want others to see the email that only you were supposed to see.
6. Shouldn’t. Because then everyone who the person you sent it to sends it to will know your information and you may not want them to.
7. Shouldn’t. Because then everyone you send it to will have everybody else’s address and will know all your contacts.
8. Shouldn’t. Because that’s retarded.
9. Shouldn’t. Because not everyone wants that and you don’t want the wrong people getting a hold of all your contacts.
10. Should. That way other people can’t get a hold of all your contacts.
5th assignment (“Kami Kami bite counter keeps your kid masticating”)
Summary: From Japanese gadgetry comes a bite counter from Nitto Kagaku. The headgear keeps track of how many bites your kid takes, and it even plays a little jingle every 1,000 chews in order to celebrate the occasion.
I think this could lead to a smarter design, maybe one that shocks the kid when they get to 1000 bites instead of humming a melody, that way they wont want to get to 1000 and they wont have an obesity problem; just kidding… but maybe something along those lines. I don’t think this technology will change my life any.
4th assignment (“Soviet bunker as theme park”)
Summary: Išgyvenimo drama opened in early 2008 to some controversy. Tourists pay 120 LTL ($US 220) each to step back into 1984 as a temporary USSR citizen for 2.5 hours. On entry, all belongings are handed over and under the watchful eye of guards and alsatians, tourists change into threadbare Soviet coats and are herded through the bunker. Experiences include watching TV programs from 1984, wearing gas masks, learning the Soviet anthem under duress, eating typical Soviet food and even undergoing a concentration-camp-style interrogation and medical check.
I think this theme park will lead to people wanting to know more about the past and becoming more educated. I don’t know if this park will change my life any but if i ever get the chance to go maybe it will help me to better understand what people went through back then.
3rd assignment (“Feijoa fruits are ripe”)
Summary: Feijoas, also called pineapple guavas, have a perfume scent, a tart, firm, gritty flesh, and a sweet custard-like center. This year’s harvest came later than usual, and it looks like it’s not as bountiful as previous years’.
I think this fruit could bring new flavors to foods and different drinks. I’m not sure if it’ll change my life at all but if i ever get the chance to try in i definatley will!
2nd assignment (“Nissan’s EV forays leading to wireless recharging?”)
Summary: Nissan is getting involved in large EV projects in Europe, Israel and Japan. Minoru Shinohara, senior vice president of the technology development department at Nissan said during the CEATEC Exhibition in Japan that Nissan is exploring wireless recharging. Seeking Alpha gives hints that Nissan may be looking to ultracapacitors from the APowerCap company in Ukraine. Besides wireless charging, Shinohara said Nissan will one day offer a complete range of EV options.
I think this will lead Americans to start thinking smarter and come up with new ideas and models as well. It will change my life because i’ll have a better chance of getting a vehicle that is more eco-friendly.
1st assignment (“Too sexy for CO2? Try the Hermes smart fortwo”)
Summary: The designers at Hermes have bestowed their colorific wisdom on the smart fortwo. Inside the little mini-mobile, every interior surface is covered in either leather or Hermes own Toile H canvas. Even the tridion safety cell gets covered in the tweed. No changes are made to the car’s powertrain or suspension, making this a package for the fashionista crowd only. Hermes took on the project to commemorate the tenth birthday of the smart brand.
I think that the next step to this new car will be a smaller version that is more fuel efficient and has better suspension and possibly runs on something else. This technology will lead to people thinking smarter and wanting to buy smart cars. I think it’ll change my life because when i get a car i’ll have more fuel efficient ones to choose from.
Monday’s assignment
Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation.
A virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your e-mail program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk. Viruses can be disguised as attachments of funny images, greeting cards, or audio and video files. Viruses also spread through downloads on the Internet. They can be hidden in illicit software or other files or programs you might download. Because of these kinds of things computer viruses helped contribute to $8.5 billion in consumer losses in 2008.
What has changed?
Well Barack Obama is the first African American president so that’s one big change. Also, there will probably be a lot more benefits for African Americans in America and no more places that don’t allow black people, for instance restaurants and motels. Also I strongly believe that racism will go down very much now that we have a black president and people will be a lot less stereotypical.
I’m not sure what I’ll do differently in the next 4 yrs. I’m sure having Barack as president will affect my actions in some kind of way but I’m not sure how or in what ways yet.
Hoily Crep, Batman, I Got a Progress Report
I am for and against Wikipedia. I am for because although people can change whatever they like on it and add things and take things away, they have people that come check it periodically to make sure things look good. Also, Wikipedia organizes informtion for everyone, is bound by codes of good practice, and seeks to prevent abuse and keep in mind that the “WikiScanner” tool, among many other tools Wikipedia already supplies, provides cautious readers with an additional tool to identify possible manipulation. With Wikipedia, a user is usually provided with a relatively in-depth summary of the inquired topic along with relevant media as well as links to related resources and along with that, within a Wikipedia article a reader may click on various other names, places, topics, and so on to be redirected to an article of that subject for deeper research; you can get everything you need and more from this site. Most Wikipedia articles include sources for the information which can be checked simply by clicking on the citation, and often an author includes further reading for those who may be more interested. Also I definitely think that Wikipedia’s benefits should not be denied to students as a source for education and research because of all the resources at a student’s disposal, few are as controversial as Wikipedia and what I’ve written so far is proof of that. Banning the use of Wikipedia will serve no function other than to deny students an easy, convenient, in depth, and relatively accurate source of information. The focus of teachers should not revolve around denying Wikipedia’s use, but to teach students intelligent critical thinking and judgment skills to be able to tell the difference from good information and bad. Wikipedia is also aware that some of its articles have incorrect information and/or have been vandalized and is considering for implementation to discourage informational vandalism by allowing users to rate or challenge a paragraph, article, or even contributor. Other options include delayed posting of an article, and WikiScanner which would reveal the author of an edit. To conclude my reasoning behind why I am for Wikipedia, I think that it would be foolish to disregard something that combines convenience, reliability, and flexibility in a manner that is both fun and educational. Now, for why I am against Wikipedia. Although Wikipedia’s material is convenient, and fun to use it is not always trustworthy and can sometimes sound very truthful but be completely wrong.
