lesson 1- Nicole Davis

Summary: I learned how to use some tools in the tool box like the zoom tool and some of the hidden tools. I also learned how to drag the zoom tool to make a square around part of the picture. I learned how to use the elliptical marquee tool. Also I used keyboard combinations with tool actions, learned how to apply a change to a selected area, and zooming and scrolling with the navigator palette.
Vector vs Raster

Raster- a set of horizontal lines composed of individual pixels, used to form an image on a CRT or other screen
Vector- an array of data ordered such that individual items can be located with a single index or subscript
Bitmap- a set of bits that represents a graphic image, with each bit or group of bits corresponding to a pixel in the image
Anti-aliasing- A technique used on a grey-scale or colour bitmap display to make diagonal edges appear smoother by setting pixels near the edge to intermediate colours according to where the edge crosses them
PDF- (Portable Document Format) lets you capture and view robust information — from almost any application
AI- Artificial intelligence is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science which aims to create it. Major AI textbooks define the field as “the study and design of intelligent agents.”

Short Story
Over winter break I went to Chicago
to see my boyfriend’s graduation from navy boot camp
and we went to a park in Chicago and saw the big bean
!! We also saw ALOT of snow
. Then we drove back to Austin and on the way back we stopped in St. Louis, Missouri to see the arch aka the Gateway to the West
! On the drive home we stopped in Tennessee to take a bathroom break and a little nap and in the restroom of one of the corner stores there were pictures of Elvis all over the walls
; I thought that was pretty cool. Then we drove home and spend the rest of the break relaxing
.
Email -Kwizzzzzzzzz
1. Should. So people know what they’re about to read before they open it.
2. Shouldn’t. Because other people can get all the addresses of your contacts and spam them.
3. Shouldn’t. Because they already got the email and don’t need it again.
4. Shouldn’t. Because everybody doesn’t need to know the business of the email.
5. Shouldn’t. Because you don’t want others to see the email that only you were supposed to see.
6. Shouldn’t. Because then everyone who the person you sent it to sends it to will know your information and you may not want them to.
7. Shouldn’t. Because then everyone you send it to will have everybody else’s address and will know all your contacts.
8. Shouldn’t. Because that’s retarded.
9. Shouldn’t. Because not everyone wants that and you don’t want the wrong people getting a hold of all your contacts.
10. Should. That way other people can’t get a hold of all your contacts.
